Discipleship - Part 1, Lesson 3

Lesson 1 and an introduction
Lesson 2

Lesson 3 was about quiet time. I found this lesson to be very convicting because quiet time is something I have been wanting to do, yet never have gotten into the habit of doing. It's been, for me, one of those things you learn about and get fired up for, but when the alarm goes off early in the morning, you are like, "This is ridiculous." and you go back to sleep. So, after going through the lesson, I decided that no matter how I felt, I was going to get up and do it. And I have been. For 3 days, at least. I am using S.O.A.P. (Scripture, Observe, Apply, Pray) to go through Romans.

Anyway, the lesson secons were:
Core truth - How does a disciple grow in Christ on a daily basis? Just as Jesus went to a "solitary place" to meet with his Father (Mark 1:35), so a disciple should daily pull away from the business of life for a quiet time, a personal rendezvous with the Lord and Savior.
Memory verse - Psalm 1:1-3 (in the context of Psalm 1)
Bible study - John 15:1-11
Reading - If Quiet Time Is New For You

Well, that's about it for Lesson 3. Again, I'll encourage you if you go to Pathway to join a Discipleship group in August (when they'll be available again) if you haven't already!
